The Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 is a grand Hindu pilgrimage and spiritual festival, held at Prayagraj (Allahabad) in Uttar Pradesh. This event is considered the largest gathering of humanity in the world and occurs once every 12 years at each of the four Kumbh Mela sites (Prayagraj, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik), with the Maha Kumbh Mela being the most significant.

  1. Dates: The festival begins on January 13, 2025, and continues until March 25, 2025, encompassing several auspicious bathing dates.
  2. Location: Prayagraj (Sangam), the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
  3. Significance: Pilgrims bathe in the holy Sangam during specific auspicious dates to wash away sins and attain liberation (moksha).

    • Makar Sankranti (January 14, 2025)
    • Paush Purnima (January 25, 2025)
    • Mauni Amavasya (February 11, 2025) – Main bathing day
    • Basant Panchami (February 16, 2025)
    • Maghi Purnima (February 25, 2025)
    • Maha Shivaratri (March 13, 2025)

Preparations:

  • Transportation: Special trains and buses are arranged to Prayagraj from across India.

Day 1

Day 1: HYDERABAD – PATNA – BODHGAYA – VARANASI

Arrival: after Arrive in Patna, the capital of Bihar Transfer to Varanasi Via Bodhgaya.
Places to visit in Bodhgaya

  • Mahabodhi Temple: The primary site where Buddha attained enlightenment.
  • Great Buddha Statue: A towering statue of Lord Buddha.

After Bodhgaya sightseeing directly proceed to Varanasi evening check into hotel dinner and Overnight stay at Varanasi.
 

Day 2

Day 2: VARANASI SIGHTSEEING

Morning after breakfast visit Varanasi sightseeing.
Places to visit in Varanasi:
Kashi Vishwanath Temple: The Kashi Vishwanath Temple is widely recognised as one of the most important places of worship in the Hindu religion, because the it holds the
jyotirlinga of Shiva Vishveshwara, or Vishvanath. A visit to the temple and a bath in the Ganges is one of many methods believed to lead one on a path to moksha

  • Manikarnika Ghat: The famous cremation ghat.
  • Ganga Aarti: Witness the Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat in the evening.
  • Kaal Bhairav Temple : The temple is dedicated to Bhairava (Kaal Bhairav), a fierce form of Shiva. The word "Kaal" means both "death" and "time". Kaal Bhairav also means the one who removes the fear of both death and time.

Day 3: VARANASI – PRAYAGRAJ MAHA KUMBH

Early Morning 3 am travel to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela was a 45-day Hindu festival in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India from January 13 to February 26, 2025.

  • The 2025 Maha Kumbh Mela was particularly auspicious because it occurred once
  • every 144 years
  • Devotees took a holy dip in the rivers at the Sangam, believing it would cleanse their
  • sins and grant them moksha (liberation)
  • Saints, including Naga sadhus, performed a sacred dip called the Shahi Snan.

  • The Maha Kumbh Mela (the festival of the sacred pitcher) is anchored in Hindu
  • mythology. It is the world's largest public gathering and collective act of faith. This

Day 4

Day 4: PRAYAGRAJ – AYODHYA (160 KMS,3-4 HRS)

Day 5: AYODHYA – GORAKHPUR DEPARTURE (140 KMS,2-3 HRS)
