Overview

The sacred pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar is one of the most spiritually significant journeys in the world. Revered by followers of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon traditions, Mount Kailash is believed to be the divine abode of Lord Shiva, while Lake Manasarovar is considered one of the holiest lakes on earth.

The 8 Nights / 9 Days Helicopter Route is specially designed for pilgrims who prefer a shorter and faster journey while still experiencing the spiritual essence of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. This itinerary begins from Lucknow, followed by a scenic drive to Nepalgunj in Nepal. From there, pilgrims fly to Simikot, a picturesque Himalayan town, and continue by helicopter to Hilsa, located near the Nepal–Tibet border.

After completing immigration formalities, the journey proceeds into Tibet with a drive to Purang for acclimatization before visiting the sacred Lake Manasarovar. Pilgrims perform holy rituals, take a sacred bath, and experience the spiritual tranquility of the lake.

The highlight of the pilgrimage is the Kailash Parikrama (Kora), a sacred circumambulation around Mount Kailash covering approximately 52 km, traditionally completed over three days. During the trek, pilgrims cross the sacred Dolma La Pass (5630 m), the highest point of the journey and one of the most spiritually powerful locations of the pilgrimage.

This helicopter-assisted route significantly reduces travel time while allowing pilgrims to experience the key spiritual highlights of the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, making it an ideal option for those with limited time while still seeking the blessings of this sacred Himalayan pilgrimage.
